According to journalist Ives Galarcep, Boavista is finalizing the acquisition of Alberth Elis from the Houston Dynamo. The Honduran standout is in the final year of his current deal and would be joining defender Reggie Cannon at the Portuguese club. After last game, coach Tab Ramos knew that this transfer could be made.

"Alberth didn't practice fully today, so it's kind of like a last-minute thing that we'll deal with to decide, probably later tonight", had said Ramos. This statement supposed that there was something behind this.

Elis has been a valious player since arriving at the Dynamo during the middle of the 2017 season. He scored 34 goals and made 27 assists in 88 MLS appearances, including four goals and three assists over six games in Ramos' first year in charge.
