The Mexican made a controversial decision to play in the MLS after leaving Atlético de Madrid, one of the most prestigious clubs around the world. Now Herrera responds to all those haters who criticized him.

“If I had stayed at Atlético de Madrid playing without regularity, people would criticize me for why I stayed. I came to the MLS and they criticize me for why I am going to the United States.”

Héctor Herrera assures that he made this decision for the well-being of his family and to be able to arrive in shape at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

"In the end I did what was best for me and my family, I'm calm and here I will have much more regularity than I had in Spain".

Héctor Herrera is 32 years old and has played for clubs, Pachuca, Porto, Atlético de Madrid and now with the Houston Dynamo.
