At some point, he was one of the best prospects for a left back around. And after good performances with his boyhood club and his national youth team, he caught attention from Real Madrid and signed for them. He played well at the beginning and even won a couple of titles.

Then, his career went to waste. Labeled as indisciplined by many of his coaches, he played for lower clubs until he retired with just 29 years old. Then he tried to make money out of soccer, trying unsuccessfully to make a living as an actor and then as a rapper, for what he adopted the nickname Roya2Faces. But today, he signed for a soccer team again.

This player is Royston Drenthe. Now at 33, he will give it a shot at Racing Murcia, in the fourth division of Spain. A millionaire businessman took over the club and after failing to sign Samuel Eto'o and Joleon Lescott, Drenthe accepted his offer and moved to Spain.

These will be the last moments of Drenthe at soccer given his age and his actual interest for winning money from the sport. Sadly, he will remembered as the promising left back that did not make it to the top level. But he is just having fun with the activity he loves the most.
