DC United became a nursery. Felipe Martins is the fifth player that got insured for the capital city team in this year. And the context is the worse, as they will head tonight the Atlantic Cup against New York Red Bulls without one of their usually first team player.

Martins suffered a torn ACL in his right knee Tuesday and will undergo reconstruction surgery on Friday. He is recovery time will go around nine months. As a consequence, he will be placed on the Season-Ending Injury List.

The midfielder is adding to the injury list DC united has: Paul Arriola, who had ACL surgery in February, Edison Flores, who will be out four to six weeks after having plastic surgery to repair multiple facial fractures, Russell Canouse, who is also out with a hamstring injury and Oniel Fisher, who has an undisclosed injury. Undoubtly, the Red and Black needs to make some changes in their training and food methods or they would finally have all their team out.
