Cristian Pavon could return to MLS, according to the Argentine media TNT Sports, as the possibility is open that the LA Galaxy will validate their agreement in principle and buy the Argentine player from Los Xeneizes.

According to journalist Martin Costa, Boca Juniors and LA Galaxy have an agreement in principle for the Argentine team to sell Pavon to the MLS team.

It is worth remembering that Cristian Pavon's contract with Boca ends on June 30, 2022, and it is already clear that he does not want to stay at the club.

Because of this, he could already sign a pre-contract with another team and may not leave money to Boca.

It seems that all that is needed to close the deal is for Pavon to accept, which is very likely to happen because his salary will be similar to that of his first stint with the Los Angeles club.

Why would Pavon leave Argentina for MLS?

The last season at Boca has not been the best for Pavon: the striker, a native of Cordoba, Argentina, has been losing his starting place in the team led by Sebastian Battaglia, and this is compounded by the great comeback of Sebastian Villa

In addition, the player is sanctioned by CONMEBOL and could not play the first 6 games of the Copa Libertadores, the most competitive and toughest soccer tournament in the American continent.

Cristian Pavon's first stint at LA Galaxy

It was on August 8, 2019, when Cristian Pavon's first stint with the Californian team began. Pavon was transferred on loan to the MLS club led by Guillermo Barrios Schelotto

The Argentine player arrived with the responsibility of boosting the Galaxians' numbers, and he did not disappoint.

In that first MLS adventure, he played 35 games, scored 14 goals, and provided 9 assists. That's why Dennis te Kloese, the team's general manager, said of Pavon:

"He has the talent to be one of the most effective offensive players in Major League Soccer."

It is a reality that Cristian Pavon was the most important player for the Los Angeles Riot Squad.

In a very difficult season for the team in 2020, the player started all 22 games played by the team. In that season alone, he contributed 10 goals and seven assists.

It was early in Pavon's career with the Galaxians that the club realized how talented the player was.

For example, they extended the option to extend his loan until the end of the 2020 season. And the Galaxy did not fail in their gamble as the player became one of the stars of the MLS.

During his first 11 regular-season games with the Galaxy in 2019, Pavon scored three goals and provided eight assists after making his debut on August 11.

Cristian Pavon even posted a streak of at least one goal or assist in eight consecutive matches. In the North American League Playoffs, Pavón added two more games, scoring once.

That is why the news of his return has generated so much expectation, as the LA Galaxy wants to bring back one of the most important players they have ever had.
