A year and a half ago, Corey Burke was Philadelphia Union's top scorer. It's amazing to say that considering that the Jamaican striker is back and ready to play for title contender Philadelphia Union. Jim Curtin's side almost received a reinforcement with him, but with no cost and too many chances of been a great addition.

The last time Burke played for Philadelphia was on April 20, 2019. That day, against Montreal Impact, he scored a goal as he usually does. After he got injured, for visa reasons, he was sent to Jamaica. When he was ready to play, Philadelphia decided that the 28 year-old player needed some action before returning to the MLS.

That was the reason why Corey Burke was sent on loan. First, he was loaned to the Jamaican side Portmore United. In the Kingston's team, he scored eleven goals in eighteen games. By the time he switched teams, he was the Jamaican National League's top scorer. He was the transferred to SKN St. Pölten, where he scored four goals and delivered two assists in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Anyway, Burke won't have an easy job earning a spot at the starting line up of Philadelphia Union. He definitely won't be able to claim a spot just because of his past. Kacper Przybylko is among the fifteen MLS's top scorers; Brendan Aaronson is calling European teams attention with his dribbles, and both Sergi Santos and Ilsinho have a lot to do with Union's present. Even the replacements Andrew Wooten and Jamiro Monteiro will be hard to beat by Burke. But lest wait until next Monday to see how the Jamaica form is.
