Mexico's Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez went seven MLS games without a goal on Sunday as the Los Angeles Galaxy fell 3-0 at home to the Houston Dynamo, with three days to go before the U.S. Cup derby against West-leading Los Angeles FC.

LAFC moved two points clear of second-placed Austin, four ahead of Dallas and Real Salt Lake in third, and six ahead of the Galaxy, who dropped to fifth.

In the East, the Philadelphia Union won away against the Portland Timbers (2-0) and regained sole leadership, one point ahead of New York City FC, which won 1-0 against the Chicago Fire.

Chicharito’s drought

After starting the year with five goals in six games, Chicharito has now gone seven without a goal, and his Galaxy lost by a landslide at home to the Houston Dynamo.

Paraguay's Sebastián Ferreira propelled the Texans to victory with his fifth goal of the season and punished a Galaxy in which Chicharito started as a substitute and played the last 30 minutes.

It was the fifth loss of the season for the Los Angeles side, their third in the last five games, with the Cup derby against LAFC just around the corner.
