The latest team to export a youngster is Atlanta United, who already agreed on terms with Belgian side Cercle Brugge for the permanent move of the homegrown George Bello for a transfer fee of $3.75 million plus sell on clause.

The problem now for the Five Stripes is to convince the 20-year-old left-back to agree on terms with the Belgian side, as he refuses to move to Jupiler Pro League given that Atlanta has rejected the multiple offers send by Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld, a more attractive spot for the US Soccer international.

What could happen if he refuses to sign with Cercle Brugge?

Bello has been loud about wanting to join Arminia Bielefeld and has no intention on leaving the MLS if it’s to join Cercle Brugge. If Atlanta doesn’t solve thing in the next hours, Bello would have to wait 6 months to sign a pre-contract to join any team he wants, as he’s on his last year of contract with ATL UTD.
