Last Sunday, Atlanta United played its last game of the 2022 Major League Soccer season. The team coached by Mexican Gonzalo Pineda lost 2-1 at home against New York City FC, in a game that was simply to confirm the bad season of the team where Josef Martínez plays.

The Venezuelan Martínez has a contract with Atlanta United until the end of the 2023 season, with the option to renew for one more year.
