On the Presidential Election Day the MLS made sure to give the chance for their players to vote. It's the most important political day of the next four years, and the MLS did everything possible not to make their players miss the chance of voting.

Because of this, Black Players for Change, MLS Players Association, Major League Soccer, and several MLS teams closed all their offices so that employees would be able to vote and even participate as assistants in the election process. Obviously, the future of the country is more important than sport.

In that sense, Philadelphia Union is one of the franchises that involved the most in the Presidential Election Day. All of the players on the team coached by Jim Curtin signed up to vote for the next president. The same thing happened with 16 other teams of the Major League Soccer.

In total, almost 95% of the MLS players have registered in the election process. There are even some soccer players who will be voting for the first time in their lives, such as Mark McKenzie, who is 21; Kei Kamara, who has never wanted to vote before; or coach Giovanni Savarese, who became a U.S. citizen two years ago
