It was announced that the AS Cavaly vs New England Revolution game of the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 has been postponed due to a request from the Haitian team.

The match was scheduled to take place on Thursday, February 15 at 18:00 ET in the United States, at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts, however, this match will no longer take place on this date. 

Why was the AS Cavaly vs New England Revolution CONCACAF Champions League game postponed?

According to a statement from the tournament's organizing body, due to "challenges faced by the Haitian club in its attempts to obtain the necessary visas to travel."

The request was met not only by Concacaf but also by the New England Revolution, a team that has never faced the Cavaly and will be facing this squad for the first time in the CONCACAF Champions League. 

The NER's social networks have already confirmed the date change and have communicated the new date on which the match will take place.

The match will take place next Friday, February 18 at 5:30 pm ET, at the same place that had been presented as the venue for the duel, i.e. Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The New England Revolution is set to represent the United States in the CONCACAF Champions League after earning the Supporters' Shield in 2021, setting the all-time mark of 73 points earned in the 2021 regular season.

New England will open the regular season by visiting the Portland Timbers on Saturday, Feb. 26 (7:30 p.m. ET), at Providence Park.

The Revs had a brilliant 2021 campaign after scoring 73 points in the campaign to leave their closest challengers, the Philadelphia Union, far behind.

The Union reached 54 points in the regular season, 19 points behind the Revs, so the team led by Bruce Arena was the one that earned the right to play in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
