The famous sports newspaper Tutto Sport every year delivers diferent individual trophies such as World's Best Player or in this case World's Golden Boy which is given to the best U21 player in professional soccer. Alphonso Davies, recently winner of the UEFA Champions League is one of the nominated players to conquer it. According to Transfermarkt, the Canadian transfer fee increased considerately and was included into the XI most valuable youth players.
The left back defender was bought by Bayern Munich two years ago in a $13M transfer fee. Something that called the attention of everyone, as Davies was only 17 years-old and had few experience as a professional soccer player. And logically, in his first seasons he did not have so much continuity.
However, the arrival of the new head coach Hans-Dieter Flick as an interim, after Niko Kovac's departure, gave him the opportunity of show himself. Flick changed his position in field which was in the attack front to become part of the defence. Now, after his stelar performances in the Champions League, Davis increased his transfer fee into $48M.
