Los Angeles FC was defeated 2-1 by Vancouver Whitecaps in Providence Park, Portland, on the Week 18 of the 2020 Major League Soccer regular season. However, the game will remain in the history because Erik Dueñas became the youngest player to make an appearance for LAFC.

The Mexican started on the bench and came into the game in the 25th minute of the second half, replacing Dejan Jakovic. At 15 years and 362 days, Erik Dueñas became the youngest player to make an appearance in LAFC and the 3rd youngest player to do it in Major League Soccer.

He played just over 20 minutes and received the first yellow card of his career at the end of the game. Thanks to two goals scored by Lucas Cavallini, the team led by Marc Dos Santos won 2-1. Despite the defeat, Dueñas will forever remember his first game with LAFC.

Before Dueñas, Christian Torres was the youngest player to make an appearance in LAFC. At 16 years and 134 days, he made his debut with the team led by Bob Bradley on August 30. However, Dueñas made his debut three days before his 16th birthday and set a new record.
