If Mexico National Team doesn’t manage to win tonight in Estadio Azteca against Panama, they’ll be out of the spots that grant instant access to the 2022 FIFA World Cup -as both USMNT and Panama MNT will have more points than El Tri- and will have to face a playoff match in order to assist to Qatar.
A new manager is on the mix to replace Gerardo Martino in El Tri
Gerardo Martino has a last opportunity to show why he was chosen to be El Tri coach back in 2019, as his recent results have been disappointing to say the least, but it’s worth remembering that during his first two years, El Tri only lost one game.
According to reports, FMF is already looking for his replacement, and Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti has raised his hand to arrive in El Tri. He might be one of the best options out there given his strong character is something El Tri needs in the bench, especially to stop the impositions of the sponsors that diminish the performance on the pitch.
“El Tuca” currently is Liga MX side Juárez FC coach, where he arrived in 2021 after parting ways with Tigres, club he coached for over 10 years. But according to reports, he doesn’t have a release clause, which could help fasten things up if he’s asked to replace Martino.
