According to some reports, Martino is considering leaving Johan Vásquez in the bench, as he’s keen on placing more experienced players over young ones who are starting their careers with National Team, although they have enough experience with their teams.
Instead of Vásquez, Martino is considering starting Julio César “Cata” Domínguez, who Cruz Azul fans have previously called him a sellout, especially after playing against Club América, where the center back appeared to forget how to play.

The 34-yrear-old center back has played his entire career with Cruz Azul, starting his stint with La Máquina in 2006, when he joined the senior team out of the U-20 squad. Domínguez is starting his 17th year with Los Cementeros, and recently played his 600th game as a Cruz Azul player. He’s played a total of 605 games, in which he’s scored 16 goals and 13 assistances.
