Mexico National Team will arrive to the final World Cup Qualifiers match window looking to secure their place in Qatar 2022, as they will need to earn at least four out of the nine available points in the three games they will play next week.

Hirving “Chucky” Lozano wants this coach to replace Gerardo Martino in Mexico National Team

Although it seems likely that it will happen, as the matches against Honduras and El Salvador should be an easy win for the Aztec squad, that won’t be enough to appease the followers of El Tri, as they will need great performances to be convinced that Gerardo “Tata” Martino is the coach that El Tri needs for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

That’s why the Aztec squad needs to win against USMNT, not only because, at least for the upcoming FIFA match window, they are the hardest team they will face, but also because the Bars and Stripes have won the last three games that they’ve faced each other.

But if El Tri doesn’t manage to win, Yon de Luisa and Mexican Football Federation already have the coach that will replace the Argentine coach, as they’ve been in conversations with Miguel Herrera, who is willing to take over the team like he did for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

What is Herrera going to do when he arrives?

The current Tigres coach knows that some of the problems that El Tri is going through have to do with the fact that the players that Gerardo Martino usually calls are not the ones that are having a good streak but instead the ones he knows how he works.

That’s why his first decision once he arrives in El Tri’s dugout will be to build a roster with the best players available, as he knows that names like Alan Mozo, Erik Lira, Carlos Acevedo, and Marcelo Flores deserve to be called to the Aztec squad.

But to do that, he first will stop calling some of the most regular players in Martino’s era, as they haven’t proved why they should be considered to belong to El Tri, given that their performances have been weak and full of mistakes.

Who are the players that will leave El Tri once Herrera arrives?

Herrera’s list starts with Jorge Sánchez, as Club América is going through one of their worst crises ever and the players haven’t found regularity.  He will also stop calling all Monterrey players that are part of the roster now, except for César Montes, who has been one of the most regular players in Liga MX. Those players are Luis Romo, Rogelio Funes Mori, Jesús Gallardo and Héctor Moreno.
