Orbelín Pineda’s call to Mexico National Team shouldn’t surprise anyone, even if he hasn’t played for over a month as he’s currently adapting to his new team in La Liga, Celta de Vigo, but that doesn’t exclude the fact that he is one of Mexico’s best players.

Orbelín arrived last night at Mexico City, without much fuss and preparing himself for the upcoming matches El Tri will have against Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama. He seemed committed and with his mind set to contribute to El Tri’s performance in the pitch, something that didn’t happen with other players.

Carlos Vela or Javier “Chicharito” Hernández often complained of the resources Mexican Football Federation gave them when they were called to play for Mexico National Team, and even demanded private planes or schedules that prevented them from arriving during the night, especially when they played in Europe, something that Orbelín doesn’t seem to mind, as he’s focused on helping El Tri.

Orbelín Pineda’s current market value

After ending his contract with Cruz Azul last year, when Apertura 2021 ended, and moving to Europe to join La Liga side Celta de Vigo, the 25-year-old right-winger market value was set at $10.2 million, according to Transfermarkt.
