Gerardo Martino has been questioned not only for the poor results he’s given on the last year, but also for recurrently calling players that don’t have the level required to be part of Mexico National Team, like Rogelio Funes Mori, who has been the starter striker so far.
In Liga MX currently is another Argentinian striker that this February will become a Mexican citizen and could be a better option than Funes Mori, as Julio Furch just became Liga MX champion with Atlas, but so far, Martino hasn’t even considered him for a future call.
Who would call Furch to El Tri?
According to reports, if Miguel Herrera arrives in Mexico National Team as Martino’s replacement, he’d be on board of calling Julio Furch, as he has claimed in the past, he’s a player he wishes to coach, and even has tried to acquire him when he was with Club América and now with Tigres.
