One of the players who was erased in Gerardo Martino's process with the Mexican National Team was Juan José Sánchez Purata, this defender scored several goals with the Tigres but coach Miguel Herrera decided to leave the team and now plays in MLS in the Atlanta United.

Juan José Sánchez Purata dreams of playing for the Mexican National Team and hopes that coach Diego Cocca will call him because he has had a great performance in MLS with Atlanta United. The defender is a starter and has had great games in the United States League.

"The national team is of moments, although last tournament I scored a lot of goals to be a defender, obviously I was thinking about the national team, I have always dreamed of it, but I think that last year it was more complicated due to the World Cup issue that was very close, they had in the process to players of many years. Now I think that with this new project yes, why not... why not raise your hand. Obviously, first doing things right here, which is the most important thing to be considered there. It's what every player is aiming for," Purata said on an MLS podcast.

Juan José Sánchez Purata has improved his level in the last eight months, he is already considered one of the best defenders in the MLS and has been Atlanta United's best player for two consecutive weeks. The player hopes to maintain his level so that coach Diego Cocca summons him to the Mexican National Team.

The great level of Purata

I honestly feel that I have a lot of ceiling, I have made progress, yes, in these eight months I have grown a lot. I needed this continuity, every week I try to improve, game after game I try to watch the videos, how I played, how I reacted to a play, I try to improve all the time. I think I still have a lot of talent” said Juan José Sánchez.
