The president of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), Yon de Luisa, spoke out about the criticism that the coach of the Mexican National Team, Gerardo Martino, has received. In a press conference, the president was questioned about the continuity of 'Tata', despite the fact that the performance of the national team has not been optimal, and assured that despite the results, he still has confidence in the coach.

In addition, Yon de Luisa explained that beyond being a conventional manager, Martino cares in detail about the players, and has been able to establish a good relationship with the elements that have passed through his ranks.

He also acknowledged that Martino has been able to work at the helm of ‘El Tri’ despite the adversities of the pandemic, and that he has faced the challenges with the seriousness he deserves.

Now karma is catching up with the executive, as he has focused on the money and business of the Mexican national team and not on the development of the team in terms of performance.

Why does De Luisa remain at the head of the FMF?

The manager not only has the support of the team owners, but also that of the groups linked to the federation. Such is the case of Grupo Televisa, which supports him to continue at the head of the FMF.
