Many people are still wondering when, if ever, Mexico National Team will part ways with Gerardo “Tata” Martino, given the poor results he’s achieved in the last year, especially after losing the Giant of CONCACAF title, as they lost back-to-back games against USMNT and Canada MNT.

No matter what happens with Martino, this player will be in Qatar 2022

Although “Tata” Martino was able to earn 7 points on the last FIFA match window, his playing style is still raising questions, and the fact that he keeps calling the same players even though they clearly don’t have the level needed to be part of the Aztec squad.

Some followers, analysts and even players were expecting that Jaime Lozano was going to assume the direction of Mexico National Team if Martino was separated from his position, but after news broke of his arrival in Necaxa, Carlos Salcedo has decided to step down from El Tri.

Why did he decide to step down after just been called back?

Although Gerardo Martino decided to call Salcedo back after vetoing him for getting into a fist fight with Jorge Teillier, his assistant coach, Carlos Salcedo won’t back him up as he believes that Lozano was going to give him more playing time.
