Will Edinson Cavani arrive at Cruz Azul now that Diego Aguirre was presented?

Although Edinson Cavani didn’t have the best season with Manchester United during the 2021-22 Premier League Season, as he was injured half of the season and only managed to score two goal, he’s ready to show that he still can perform at the highest level.

Cavani finished his contract with United once The Red Devils played their last game of the season last week against Crystal Palace, making him a free agent that will be followed by several teams over the world, including in Liga MX.
Mexican teams, like Cruz Azul, are in need of a striker that can score consistently, given that Iván Morales couldn’t score a single time in Clausura 2022, and now that they have Diego Aguirre, Uruguayan coach in the dugout, Cavani’s option looks more attractive than ever.
Will he arrive at Cruz Azul?
During his presentation, Diego Aguirre was asked about potential additions to the roster, as there are several things that could be improved to avoid having another season as irregular as Clausura 2022, where they were eliminated in quarterfinals of Clausura 2022 and semifinals of CONCACAF Champions League.
But the Uruguayan coach answered that he doesn’t have plans to sign any reinforcements, at least not until he gets to meet the roster and work with them given that La Máquina has one of the biggest rosters in Liga MX, as he first needs to know what are the strengths of the players and the things that will be needed to improve with outside players.
