Ricardo Cadena, the CD Tapatío helmsman who has the Rebaño Sagrado's subsidiary team in the qualification zone within the Silver Division and who has had the Rojiblancos in the lead for several days and has done so with authority, as they have 24 points out of a possible 45 as a result of six wins, four draws and five defeats, has been chosen to lead the first team as an immediate solution after the series of bad results that were consummated with the 3-1 loss against Rayados on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, April 14, 2022, it was announced that the Chivas board of directors decided to remove Marcelo Leaño from his position due to the poor results generated by three wins, five draws and five defeats that have placed them in 14th place in the general table, with no options to qualify for the playoffs, which is why the change of helm was made in search of an immediate reaction from the players, who still have four games ahead of them.
