The start of the 2021 Club World Cup is just around the corner, as the competition will be held from February 3 to 12, 2022 in the United Arab Emirates, so many fans are beginning to wonder when and at what time Monterrey will make its debut in the competition.

Who will Monterrey play against?

In this edition, the Monterrey team will face the Egyptian team Al Ahly, and if they win, they will face the reigning champion of the Copa Libertadores, Palmeiras of Brazil in the semifinals.

Rayados returns to the Club World Cup with the aim of adding more matches to its record in this competition, as it has played ten matches, only two behind Real Madrid, the team with the most matches played in this tournament. 

On the other hand, Rayados will be looking to repeat the good image they showed in 2019 when they played a good match against Liverpool, a team that ended up winning (2-1) in an exciting game and with it the pass to the Final of the Club World Cup.

Duván Vergara, out of Rayados 

Monterrey will not be able to count on the Colombian player for the FIFA Club World Cup or for the remainder of the Clausura 2022, as he suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament. It is estimated that Duván Vergara will be sidelined for six months.

Last weekend, prior to the Day 3 match against Cruz Azul, Rayados presented the jersey they will use in the Club World Cup. The jersey features the traditional white and blue colors, in addition to a single sponsor on the front of the jersey.
