Club América are having one of their worst participations in Liga MX in their history, as they have won just one game after 10 rounds in Clausura 2022 and have tied four more games, leaving them at the bottom of the table with only seven points.

The things that have changed in Club América with Fernando Ortíz as their coach

It's the first time since 2017 that Las Águilas have been the last team in Liga MX table, but they haven't had s worst start since the 1957-58 season, when they had two points after seven rounds. After that season, the Azcárraga family acquired the Azulcremas.

But now, Club América followers are worried about the current performances of the team and are wondering whether Emilio Azcárraga is going to find a way to help Las Águilas leave behind the crisis or if it will aggravate, as he hasn't showed any signs of worrying about their future.

In the past, Azcárraga has said that he’d rather sell Televisa before selling Club América, something he already did, as Televisa is now part of Univision, and even if that could calm the Azulcremas, but he still hasn’t made any decisions yet for Las Águilas future, as he hasn’t even signed a new coach.

What will happen to Las Águilas?

With only seven games left in the season before Liguilla starts, América must to start a winning streak soon if they want to at least manage to play Repechaje, as there’s only 21 points left in dispute, and it seems unlikely that a team like Club América will tank a season.

It’s yet to be seen what happens with Las Águilas, although one of the options is that Azcárraga sells the team to a new ownership that restructures not only the roster, who’ve been severely criticized by the lack of effort, but also the management of the team.

How much does Club América is worth?

According to Forbes, the brand of Club América is worth around $200 million, as they’re one of the most profitable teams in Mexican soccer, given their history and the championships they’ve won, as well as being one of the most followed teams outside Mexico.

But the price of Las Águilas will elevate up to $800 million if Azcárraga includes other assets, like the current roster, the training facilities and even Estadio Azteca, especially with the renovation that it will go through for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
