Chivas coach Veljko Paunovic is happy with his team's performance but is upset with Diego Cocca for not calling up his player Víctor Guzmán to the Mexican National Team for the Nations League matches against Suriname and Jamaica.
“In my experience, I think that when a player is performing, that he is in great shape and that he has been able to play in different positions, I think that this adds up. As we said before, he is having a great season and is performing very well, I think this is positive, ”Paunovic said at a press conference.
The Chivas coach sent a harsh message to Diego Cocca for not calling up Víctor Guzmán. The Argentine did not want to take the player from the Guadalajara club because he cannot have a place in his work system.
"I don't get involved in the decisions of my colleagues and I am always open to dialogue, but I am also not going to allow anyone to condition my team or my players on how we play and even more so when the team is playing well and when the players have good performance,” Paunovic said.
Víctor Guzmán's great season
Víctor Guzmán has scored five goals and two assists in nine games this season. The midfielder is Chivas' best player and the press sees it as unfair that he cannot play with the Mexican National Team.
