Although they only have played 2 games in Clausura 2022, as their match against Mazatlán FC was postponed until February 15, Club América has only been able to earn one point in a match they should have lost against Club Puebla.

Santiago Solari hasn’t figured out how to place his players and still needs a reliable striker that could complement Roger Martínez, but Santiago Baños, Club América’s chairman, hasn’t been able to complete negotiations for any of the forwards requested by Solari.

Club América is far from the great names they used to have in the past, and Santiago Baños is the one to blame. So much, that even Emilio Azcárraga is considering parting ways with the former player and already has his replacement for when it happens.

Who could replace Santiago Baños?

According to reports, Azcárraga is considering splitting the responsibilities between two former Club América players that were identified with Las Águilas: Pável Pardo and Claudio “Piojo” López, that could bring back the team to its former glory.
