Nicolás Larcamón has become one of the most followed coaches in Liga MX in recent years, given his charisma and ability to connect with the people, but also because he’s showed how having a solid project can help a team to become a contender in Liga MX.

What Club América will have to pay to have Carlos Vela on their roster

That’s what he’s done with Club Puebla, as he’s been with La Franja for just over a year and already made them a team that is Liga MX leader for Clausura 2022 and a real contender for the title, as they haven’t missed Liguilla in the two seasons he’s been in the dugout.

He has established a distinctive system with Los Camoteros, rooted in the versatility that the players can have on the pitch, giving them the option of modify their positions every game, depending on the team their going to face that round.

This has made him one of the most appealing coaches and has been linked to multiple teams. But when he was asked during an interview with Javier Alarcón about his future, he said he’d love to coach a big team like Club América, leaving Chivas out of the picture.

Will he arrive in Club América?

Although Larcamón has said multiple times that he’s focused on the present and that he doesn’t listen to rumors, according to reports of TVC Deportes, the Argentine coach already has a pre agreement with Las Águilas, who will wait until the end of Clausura 2022 to pay his release clause.

Given that Club América sacked Santiago Solari a week ago after the poor results he had during the 8 rounds he was in Las Águilas’ dugout this season and that they haven’t signed any other coach other than Fernando “Tano” Ortíz as interim coach, it’s possible that they’re waiting for Larcamón.

In Puebla are expecting to extend his contract for at least another year, as he’s the only coach that has been able to give them the solidity they haven’t had since they were Liga MX champions back in 1990, but by doing it, they’d also increase his release clause from $900,000 to at least $2 million.

Does he want to arrive in Las Águilas?

Larcamón has said that he feels happy in Puebla, as the city, the team and the followers have welcomed him with open arms, but he also wants to coach a national team like the Mexican, something he knows will only happen if he proves he’s able to coach a big team.

For now, his idea is to transcend with Club Puebla, something he might do this season as they’re one of the strongest contenders for the title, and then continue his career on a team that will give him a bigger spotlight that can open the doors of Mexico National Team in the near future.
