He was part of the Mexican squad for 2010 South Africa, 2014 Brazil and finally 2018 Russia, completing 9 games with 1 goal and 1 assist.
He also participated in 2 Copa Confederaciones in the years 2013 and 2017. Finally, but not less, he was part of the Olympics Mexican squad that won the gold medal against Brazil in 2012 in London. He scored 2 goals and provided 3 assists, and was one of the best players of the tournament.
