The Liga MX semifinals are already set and one of the most awaited games will be next Wednesday, but the Atlas vs Tigres duel at the Jalisco Stadium could be high risk. Is a tragedy coming?

In the quarter-final matches, the match-ups have been arranged and while Club América and Pachuca will play next Thursday, the duel between the Zorros and the Felinos will take place a day earlier.

However, the fact that these two clubs will clash could generate conditions for their match to be considered high-risk and the reason is one that has already led Mexican soccer to a tragedy.

Why could the Atlas vs Tigres match at the Jalisco Stadium be high risk?

In this match, in which Atlas and Tigres will clash on the field, in the stands, it could mean the clash of two of the most dangerous cheering groups in Mexican soccer: the Barra 51 and the Libres y Lokos

It should be remembered that one of these groups, Barra 51, was involved in the violence that led to the tragedy at the Corregidora stadium in March of this year.

On that day, during the match between Atlas and Querétaro, the Gallos Blancos supporters' groups surprised, ambushed, and attacked Atlas fans in the stands of the stadium, due to a war between supporters groups that has been going on for years.

Barra 51 is one of the most conflictive in Mexican soccer, which is why in the match against Tigres they could find themselves face to face with another equally dangerous group: the Libres y Lokos.

This is the name of the supporters' group that follows the Felinos all over Mexico, and although the Liga MX has banned visiting supporters' groups from stadiums, Barra 51 has already found a way to get around this ban.

Is a tragedy coming for the Atlas vs Tigres match?

The question takes force because since the banning of visiting teams' cheering groups in Liga MX stadiums began, most of the clubs have taken this measure.

However, Barra 51 has already found a way to get around this ban and they demonstrated it last April 30 when they managed to get the club's board of directors to give them access to the stadium, showing their fan ID.

This fan ID is an identification provided by Liga MX so that the clubs' cheering groups could enter the stadiums safely and thus avoid another tragedy like the one that happened at the Estadio Corregidora.

Although this duel was precisely against Tigres, the circumstances were different since at that time both clubs were only playing for three points in Round 17 of the tournament.

On the other hand, on this new occasion when the two teams will meet again, they will be playing their hearts out to earn the right to play in the final of the tournament.

Therefore, for this duel, Barra 51 and the Libres y Lokos could meet either inside the stadium or outside, which could mean the risk of a new incident of violence in Mexican soccer.

Will Liga MX take action?
