Clausura 2022 has become one of the worst participations of Club América in Liga MX, as they haven’t been able to leave the bottom of the table, as they currently stand 15 after only earning 10 points after 11 games.

Will Ochoa renew its contract with América?

Las Águilas are planning on ending the season with Fernando “Tano” Ortíz, who was coaching the U-20 squad, as their coach after parting ways with Santiago Solari given the bad results that he managed to acquire in the first eight rounds of the season.

Even if they don’t have to worry for hiring a new coach for the remainder of the season, Santiago Baños and Emilio Azcárraga are already looking for someone to take over the team, with names like the ones of Ricardo Ferretti, Nicolás Larcamón and Juan Carlos Osorio linked to the Azulcremas.

But Azcárraga also knows that other things have to change in Club América to be able to leave the crisis, as Solari wasn’t the only responsible for the bad results, which is why they’re planning on cleaning the locker room at the end of the season.

The four players that will leave América

According to reports from sports journalist Jonatan Peña, there’s a plan on restructuring the inside of Club América, which started with the departure of Santiago Solari and will continue with some of the players that haven’t performed well.

The list starts with Bruno Valdez, who even if has become one of the best scorer of the season for Las Águilas, he has been irregular on the defensive duties, as he’s been involved in multiple mistakes that have costed points to the Azulcremas.

The list continues with the three top forwards that Club América currently has, as neither Henry Martín, Federico Viñas nor Roger Martínez have proved to be the striker that América needs, as between the four of them have scored just 4 goals.

The list could grow in the next weeks

They are not the only players that are on thin ice, as players like Mauro Lainez, who has been erased from the starting XI given his poor performances, or Jorge Meré, who arrived at the request of Solari but hasn’t been able to prove why he should be considered to remain in the team now that Solari’s gone.
