Now that the regular season of Clausura 2022 has come to an end, 12 teams are preparing to face the elimination stage, as eight of them will face Repechaje next week to complete the teams that will play in quarterfinals, where Club Pachuca, Tigres, Atlas and Club América are waiting.

The remainder six teams that didn’t make it into Repechaje, will have to start planning the next season starting on Monday, as they know that they can’t miss again the elimination stage in a league that gives possibilities to two thirds of the teams to have an opportunity to become Liga MX champions.

Among the teams that didn’t make it into Repechaje is FC Juárez, who only had three victories in Clausura 2022: against Club Necaxa and Atlético San Luis, at the start of the season, and Toluca, who will also miss the playoffs.

Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti, who arrived at Bravos for the 2021-22 Liga MX season, knew that the project was going to fail a few months ago, as he even presented his resignation letter, although FC Juárez management decided to keep him in the dugout.

He’ll have a new team for Apertura 2022

Even if FC Juárez is trying to extend his contract, as they know that Ferretti is one of the best coaches in Liga MX given the experience he has, “El Tuca” is looking to part ways with them, as he knows that there's nothing else that he can give to Bravos.

According to reports form W Deportes, he could arrive at Pumas if Andrés Lillini doesn’t achieve the goals set by the management at the start of the season, which includes winning the CONCACAF Champions League, where they tied 2-2 against Seattle Sounders on the first leg of the final.

Given the good relationship that Ferretti has with Miguel Mejía Barón, who is the sporting director of Pumas and was Tigres’s sporting director during Ferretti’s stint with Los Felinos, “El Tuca” is shaping as Lillini’s successor.

Pumas are not the only team interested in him

Although he has experience coaching Los Universitarios, Pumas are not the only team interested in acquiring his services for Apertura 2022, as Chivas are also on the hunt for a new coach, although Ricardo Cadena could remain in El Rebaño’s dugout if they have a good participation in Liguilla.
