Rayados continues its crisis and with this defeat, the tension with coach Javier Aguirre increases. Monterrey was unable to equalize even though they had an extra man on the field for 37 minutes.

La Franja remains at the top of the table, already with 14 accrued points, although the result they got was even more satisfactory given the way the match went, as a red card to Gustavo Ferrareis complicated everything and led them to end up locked in their defensive line.

De Buen scored the winning goal

The Larcaboys took an early lead with a header by Diego de Buen in the 3rd minute, which led to thinking that they could handle the game better, something that did not happen, as the visitors soon looked for the ball to go for the equalizer.

Monterrey went forward again and again, although they were unable to find a reward for their good work, partly due to the poor form of their attackers, but also to the lack of cohesion between the lines, as they were not supplied with the balls they would have liked.

Funes Mori wasted the penalty

As a result, Nicolás Larcamón's team managed to withstand the bad minutes, although a mistake by Ferrareis in the 53rd minute complicated the picture once again, as he not only committed a penalty against Maxi Meza but also received a red card.

Fortunately for La Franja, Antony Silva appeared once again, who guessed how Funes Mori's penalty kick would be taken to stop his shot and maintain his team's lead. It was his second penalty kick save in a row, as the previous week he saved a shot from Julio Furch.

The Brazilian's absence weighed heavily, as Puebla was unable to take the ball or even manage to cool down the game, but this time Monterrey's crisis helped them to maintain their 1-0 lead, which ignited spirits in the capital of Nuevo León and kept the Camotero team at the top for another week.

With this result, the Camoteros reached 14 points to consolidate their position at the top of the Grita México Clausura 2022, after four wins and two draws. On the other hand, Javier Aguirre's men suffered their first defeat of the competition, but have two matches pending due to their return from the Club World Cup.
