"I anticipate that the visiting barras will no longer go to the stadiums," commented Mikel Arriola, president of Liga MX.

Mikel Arriola traveled to Querétaro to meet with the governor of the state and to visit the injured, in addition to verifying the course of the investigations related to the events reported at the Corregidora Stadium, which resulted in 26 injured, three of them seriously.

Will the barras disappear in Mexican soccer?

The president of Liga MX commented that the continuity of the "cheering groups" will be analyzed next Tuesday, at a meeting of owners to be organized by the Mexican Soccer Federation.

"We have an assembly of owners next Tuesday, at nine o'clock in the morning, what are the relations with the various clubs with their cheering groups and how we can close the spaces for collaboration," acknowledged Mikel Arriola. "We are thinking about it in an institutional way, but also to see what the rules are for those teams to attend or not to attend a soccer match".

Querétaro will eliminate its barra

For his part, Gabriel Solares, president of the Gallos Blancos, added that they will separate themselves from the barra that supports the Querétaro team, after the incident that took place in the match against Atlas.

"The team's supporters, first of all, as Mikel pointed out, will take the issue to the league level. I can tell you that it is an absolute priority to end any kind of relationship with that group," said Solares.

The match between Querétaro and Atlas at La Corregidora was suspended in the 63rd minute after a fight broke out in the stands of the stadium, and fans from both teams had to invade the field to take shelter from the confrontation. Atlas had a 1-0 lead at the time of the suspension thanks to a Julio Furch goal in the first half.

Liga MX decided to suspend the rest of Round 9 in response to the violence.
