Mexican soccer transfers continue and one of the rumors that have generated the most noise in recent hours is that Tigres is looking for Nino Mota, the Brazilian Olympic gold medal winner at the Tokyo 2020 games

According to Mexican media reports, the team led by Miguel Herrera is already in negotiations with Fluminense to acquire the 24-year-old central defender.

Marcilio Florencio Mota Filho, commonly known as Nino, began his soccer career at Sport Recife.

He later moved to Criciúma EC, for which he was active until 2019. In 2019, the defender was loaned to Fluminense and signed the following year

With his current team, the player won the Rio Cup in 2020, but before that, the Brazilian national soccer team was already contemplating him for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

How are the negotiations for Nino Mota to play for Tigres going?

It is known that Tigres has already begun negotiations with the Brazilian club to be able to count on Nino Mota as a central defender for the 2022 Clausura.

The deal between both clubs is about to be closed according to sources close to the Mexican media.

Everything now depends on Fluminense not wanting to ask for more than the five million dollars that the Monterrey team offered for the player.

However, this could get complicated, according to journalist Victor Lessa. According to the Brazilian, the player's card does not belong entirely to Fluminense

Only 60 percent of the letter is owned by Flu, according to Lessa. The rest of it is still owned by Criciúma EC and he is currently under contract until June 2024 and his card is reportedly valued at around US$7.2 million.

Therefore, the operation could become complicated for Tigres, especially if the Flu decides to respect the player's market price of 6.5 million dollars.

Nino Mota's numbers

The 24-year-old Brazilian has an impressive record, having played 116 games for Fluminense, in which he has scored seven goals and provided three assists

The player was also part of the Brazilian national team that won the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where the Cariocas beat the Spanish team 2-1.

He is, therefore, a defender with goal-scoring ability, just what an attacking team like the one Miguel Herrera is building at Tigres is looking for.

How much would Nino Mota earn in Tigres?

According to Brazilian media reports, Nino Mota earns 42 thousand dollars a month with Fluminense, a salary that the Monterrey club will have to match.

However, upon his arrival in Mexico, his salary could increase, as happened with André Pierre-Gignac, whose salary doubled upon his arrival in Mexico.

With this background, it would not be unusual for Mota to earn more than 84 thousand dollars a month, which would add up to a little more than 1 million dollars a year
