One of the most enduring dramas of Liga MX 2022 seems to be over as media outlets report that Carlos Salcedo has already signed his exit from Tigres. But the interesting thing is that it is now known why his departure was stuck.

The player has been at the center of the scandal since, although his transfer to Toronto FC was already a fact, for a very important reason it had not been carried out.

For the time being, it is known from media reports that the drama is over, as today he was reported to be present at the Tigres offices

Salcedo went today to finalize his contract with Tigres

According to Mexican media reports, the "Titan" traveled yesterday afternoon to the "Volcan" to finalize his contract with the Felinos, thus becoming a Toronto FC player

The player arrived accompanied by his agent Gonzalo Vargas, who had already been present last week at his client's first meeting with the Felines' board of directors.

On leaving the signing ceremony, Salcedo was approached by some fans who took a photo with the player; however, when the media reporters asked him about his departure from Tigres, the player simply replied: "everything's fine"

With this move, Tigres will receive Venezuelan winger Yeferson Soteldo, while Salcedo will now be under the orders of Bob Bradley at Toronto FC.

But the most interesting aspect of all this drama is that the reason why the player's departure from the Felino team was blocked for so long is now known.

Why was Carlos Salcedo's departure from Tigres held up for so long?

According to reporter David Medrano of TV Azteca, the departure of the "Titan" from Tigres was stuck because the Felino management refused to pay him the 10 percent that, according to FIFA regulations, corresponds to him

Without giving details of his sources or whether the Felinos finally paid the 10 percent of the player's transfer fee, Medrano did say that Salcedo did not want to leave Tigres as he had reached an agreement with Alejandro Rodríguez to renew his four-year contract with the Felinos

However, the departure of the manager of the institution and the arrival of Mauricio Culebro set back the negotiation, and instead of 4 years, the new manager would have offered the "Titan" an offer to renew for one year

This proposal was not to the player's liking and, therefore, he refused to follow the instructions of the institution's board of directors regarding his departure.

If what Medrano reports is confirmed in the next few hours, the scandal could escalate since this would not be the first case of this type in Liga MX, where a club does not want to pay the corresponding percentage for the transfer of a player.

It should be remembered that Alan Pulido has a lawsuit against Chivas for the same situation

More news about Yeferson Soteldo:

Soteldo's negotiation with Tigres was not smooth either

According to information from David Medrano himself, the Venezuelan player did not want to sign with Tigres either, as he was looking for a higher salary than the one he was receiving with the MLS team

However, it seems that yesterday afternoon both parties were able to reach an agreement whereby Soteldo and the Volcan team would be ready to make his arrival to Liga MX official.
