Monterrey couldn’t score, and, on a counterattack, they received the lone goal that gave Al-Ahly the ticket to the semifinals. The Egyptian team played against Rayados without 13 of their players and are hoping to add some of them for the match against Palmeiras.

Rayados players looked lost on the pitch and their lack of ideas was manifested from the bench, as Javier “Vasco” Aguirre seemed to have his mind somewhere else, although since his arrival in Monterrey the club hasn’t performed well.

Why did Aguirre seem distracted?

According to reports, “Vasco” Aguirre is one of the names on the mix to replace Gerardo “Tata” Martino in Mexico National Team if the Argentinian coach gets fired. If Aguirre arrives in El Tri bench, FMF will have to pay him $2 million per year.
