The performances of Carlos Acevedo, Santos' goalkeeper, have not gone unnoticed at the international level, as in addition to receiving his first call-up to the Mexican national team, a Bundesliga club is reportedly interested in his services.

According to Fox Sports, the 'Aspirin' team would be looking to sign him to reinforce the goal for the following season, and thus take him to European soccer. If the contract becomes a reality, the goalkeeper would join Andres Guardado and Javier Hernandez as Mexicans who have worn the German team's jersey.

Finland's Lukás Hrádecky is Leverkusen's current first-choice goalkeeper, so the competition for the goal would be very serious. According to Transfermarkt, a portal specialized in valuing the economic cost of players, Acevedo is valued at five million euros, an amount that the Germans would have to pay to get him.

Carlos Acevedo and the Mexican National Soccer Team

Santos goalkeeper to receive his first call-up to the Tri Major for the December match. According to TUDN, the 25-year-old goalkeeper will be called up by Gerardo Martino for the December 8 friendly against Chile. Acevedo leads the list of new faces in the squad, such as Arsenal's 18-year-old Marcelo Flores and America's Salvador Reyes.

Carlos Acevedo, owner of the Santos goal for the last three tournaments and with outstanding performances that have even taken the Laguna team to a Final, will join the Mexican National Team. The young goalkeeper from Laguna will be able to see international action in Mexico's friendly match against Chile on December 8.

Carlos Acevedo Career

Acevedo, born and raised in Torreon, Coahuila, has played for the children's team of Santos laguna. At the age of 15, he decided to leave the club only to return in 2013 and play for the U17 team. The club released him shortly afterwards but then called him to return after the youth team bus suffered an accident, and the team needed a goalie. Acevedo joined the team again and never left it anymore.

He finally fulfilled his dream to play for his beloved club, while Santos laguna gained not only a good goalkeeper but a valid symbol for the club's entity. When he was 24, in his first season as a first-choice goalkeeper, Acevedo was named as the team captain.

Acevedo was the second goalkeeper for Jonathan Orozco in the last four years. Orozco, one of the national team goalkeepers, was an essential figure at the club and was the first choice GK, while the young Acevedo played here and there. As Acevedo declare himself, it was the best formula both for the team and for his career.

Last summer, Acevedo time arrived. Orozco moved to play in Tijuana, and it was decided: Carlos Acevedo will be the first team goalkeeper. With Acevedo as a goalkeeper in his debut season, Santos laguna almost won the league, falling only in the league playoffs final against Cruz Azul.

Acevedo finished the season with 11 clean sheets and was voted by the fans as the club's player of the season. But Acevedo is not just a good goalkeeper. He is a symbol of what Santos Laguna wants as an institution.
