The summer transfer window is just around the corner and teams are already starting to plan what will be the 2022-23 Liga MX Season, as Apertura 2022 starts in just over a month, which is why a few clubs have already announced their new players.

Now that he’s officially Club América’s new coach, Ortíz wants this player no matter what

Although Las Águilas are not one of those teams, on Friday morning they revealed that Fernando “Tano” Ortíz will remain in Club América’s dugout for next season, an announcement that confirms that the Azulcremas are already planning more movements.

One of the things that “El Tano” will have to solve in the upcoming weeks is the uncertainty surrounding Las Águilas goal, as both Guillermo Ochoa and Óscar Jiménez will become free agents after Apertura 2022 is over, and reports suggest that Jiménez won’t remain in América.

Ochoa hasn’t started negotiating a contract extension

If Las Águilas don’t renew his contract before June 30, Ochoa will be able to negotiate his arrival as a free agent with any team that he wants, but if that ends up happening, Santiago Baños already has a replacement in line, and he’ll arrive from Europe.

Agustín Marchesín, former Club América goalkeeper, will become a free agent at the end of December, and is looking to leave Primeira Liga side Porto FC as he lost the starting role. His arrival will also benefit Las Águilas, as his current salary is around $1 million, a sum that they are willing to pay, as Ochoa is earning $4.5 million.
