After their elimination in the Semifinals of the Clausura 2022, Tigres were looking to make changes to their squad.  Sebastián Córdova was mentioned to leave Los Felinos for another Liga Mx team.

Córdova was one of the most important moves for Tigres a few months ago, as after showing very good flashes in Club América, it was believed that he would be an undisputed starter in Miguel Herrera's squad, however he added very few minutes, and his performance has been poor.

Local media reported that Jaime Lozano and Necaxa had been interested in the Mexican attacker.

Having coached him at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, 'Jimmy' Lozano was very happy with his performance and now that the Qatar 2022 World Cup is so close and he needs minutes to be taken into account by Tata Martino, leaving Tigres was not a bad option.

Now Cordova continues to disappoint and gets a red card against Mazatlán

Cordova was sent off in the first minutes of the first half after carelessly losing the ball and then making a dangerous sweep. The referee did not hesitate to give him the red card and left his team with ten men.

Tigres have the advantage against Mazatlan thanks to a goal by André-Pierre Gignac.
