Fernando Ortíz decided to resign from Club América after losing to Chivas in the Liga MX semifinals. This was a heavy blow for the team because they lost unexpectedly to their hated rival. Now the Águilas have a strong problem for the next tournament.

 

"For me and my coaches, it's a finished cycle with the institution and I just want to congratulate Chivas for their great game," Fernando Ortíz said at a press conference after the defeat against Guadalajara.

Now manager Santiago Baños will have to find a new coach for next season. Club América will have to make a large investment to find the ideal person for the position. The fans expect someone with experience to arrive and have several championships.

W Deportes reported that Club América would be interested in hiring Marcelo Gallardo, the former River Plate coach is available and may be an option for the team. The big problem is that the Argentine earns a good salary.
