FC Juárez hired Ricardo ‘Tuca’ Ferretti in the Apertura 2021 with the aim of taking the frontier team to the Liga MX playoffs, unfortunately, that did not happen in the last tournament. However, the Juárez board of directors is conscious that the Brazilian coach needs time to convey his playing philosophy to his players.

In the Apertura 2021 tournament, the frontier team ended in the sixteenth place of the Liga MX standings just above Querétaro and Necaxa. Bravos scored 16 points out of 51. In fact, the team had fewer points than games played (17). Despite the fact that FC Juárez had a bad tournament, the board of directors trusts Ferretti to lift the team and take it to the Liguilla in the current Clausura 2022 tournament.

FC Juarez projects an improvement compared to last year's tournament

So far, Bravos have had a better start to the current tournament compared to the Apertura 2021. In the last season, Ferretti’s boys won their first match until the eighth round against Cruz Azul, while in this tournament, FC Juárez was able to win in their first-round against Necaxa.

After four games, the border team has won twice and lost the same number of games won. That means they have 6 points out of 12, not bad if we compare it with the numbers of their last tournament in which they scored 6 points or more until the tenth round of the Liga MX.

At the moment, Bravos de Juárez already has more than a third of the points in only 4 games played than in the 17 they played in the last tournament. Ferretti's team is beginning to understand the Brazilian's philosophy to improve their game.

Although the games in which FC Juárez has beaten its rivals were not top teams, it is a positive sign that the team is winning these types of games that in the last tournament they lost or drew.

FC Juárez must improve against stronger teams

The team from the border still has a long way to go and has yet to improve their games against more competitive teams such as Cruz Azul or América, even so, the team coached by Tuca Ferretti looks stronger than last year and the fact that they can get into the Liguilla seems plausible.

The next match for FC Juárez is in their home against Santos Laguna. The frontier team currently sits in ninth place while Caixinha’s team is at the bottom of the standings with just one point. Ferretti’s squad has a huge opportunity to get another victory in the Clausura 2022 tournament.
