After debuting with a 2-0 victory against Tijuana Xolos, Cruz Azul is still set to adding another striker, and they won’t stop until he is signed. Although the victory gives them room to breathe, neither of the goals was scored by a true forward.

La Máquina is looking in the South American market and were in conversations with Argentina side Boca Juniors to acquire Argentinean international winger Cristian Pavón. They first approached his agent before 2021 ended, but nothing has transpired after negotiations have been on hold for a while.
Cruz Azul wants to add this striker as soon as possible and that’s why they already started negotiations with Paraguay side Cerro Porteño to acquire 22-year-old Robert Morales, who is set to be Paraguay’s next Roque Santa Cruz.

Robert Morales is a 22-year-old forward who was formed in the Paraguayan Olympia Academy team. He then moved to Cerro Porteño, where he has played 44 games since joining the team at the end of 2020. So far he’s scored 16 goals and assisted 6 times, and Cruz Azul would have to pay $2.2 million to acquire his services.
