South Americans Iván Morales and Ángel Romero trained with Cruz Azul for the first time this Saturday, but will not be able to make their debut on Monday against León because they do not yet have their work visas.

La Máquina's new reinforcements could travel to Central America on Monday, possibly to El Salvador, as Peruvian defender Luis Abram did, to process their immigration documents, after which they could be formally registered in Liga MX with the Cementero team.

Once they have completed all the administrative procedures, they can be taken into account by coach Juan Reynoso, who will analyze whether they are fit enough to be called up for the February 12 match against Necaxa on round 5, or whether their Liga MX debut will have to wait a little longer.

Romero's physical condition worries Cruz Azul fans

However, there are also doubts about his signing, since he has not played at club level since September last year after San Lorenzo terminated his contract. He has only been active in international matches of the World Cup qualifiers.

Angel Romero reassured Cruz Azul fans that he is in good shape and that he will only have to adapt to the team coached by Peruvian coach Juan Reynoso.

"Physically I arrived very well, I have been working throughout this time with the Paraguayan national team. Obviously, I need to work with the ball and try to adapt as quickly as possible to the team and also to the altitude, that will be important," he added.

Santiago Giménez and Christian Tabó will not play either

For Monday's match against La Fiera in round 4, Reynoso will not be able to count on the suspended Santiago Giménez, who will play with the U-20 team in order not to lose the rhythm, joining the absences of the Chilean Morales and the Paraguayan Romero.

In the case of Uruguayan Christian Tabó, he will be evaluated on Sunday to find out if he is fit to make the trip to León, after almost 7 weeks recovering from a torn left gluteus muscle.

According to sources the coaching and medical staff of La Máquina do not want to risk a major injury to the Charrúa striker, so they will be very cautious about his return to the field, in order for Cruz Azul to finally have a full squad for the Clausura 2022.

The Celestes trained at La Noria under Reynoso's command, after the FIFA date, with Venezuelan Rómulo Otero, Paraguayan Juan Escobar and Mexicans Carlos Rodríguez, Uriel Antuna and Julio César Domínguez available to play against La Máquina.
