Federico Viñas has gone from strength to weakness with Club América since his arrival for the 2019 Apertura. The Uruguayan arrived from Juventud, a club in his country of origin, where he had very good performances at an early age, a situation that caught the attention of the Azulcremas and caused them to obtain him on loan in the first instance, until making the purchase a year later.

The player had very good performances in his first three tournaments, however, as of the Clausura 2021, Viñas was relegated for two reasons. The first one is due to constant injuries, and the second one is due to a loss of confidence. This situation has caused the Uruguayan to start to make the Azulcrema fans desperate and they are now considering his departure from the Águilas.

For the Clausura 2022, Tano Ortiz has tried to give more minutes to the Uruguayan, since with Santiago Solari he was erased and was hardly used, so that of the last 10 matches of the Aguilas, Viñas was present as a starter in 9 of them, besides scoring 2 goals, facts that excited for a moment the fans of America, however, the player has been injured again.

In the first leg against Puebla in the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2022, the Uruguayan was injured after a collision with Gularte, defender of La Franja, and goalkeeper Antony Silva, which caused him to be substituted in the 20th minute of the match.

How much did Viñas cost to América?

América announced the purchase of Federico Viñas for four years in the summer of 2020 after a one-year loan, the board of the Águilas made the purchase offer valid and thus tied up the Uruguayan attacker until 2024, the cost of the transfer was 1.9 million dollars, according to Transfer Markt.
