The announcement of Las Águilas arrived just a few hours after the first leg of the final of Clausura 2022 was played, where Atlas FC received CF Pachuca in Estadio Jalisco and beat 2-0 Los Tuzos, getting them closer for the back-to-back Liga MX titles.

Las Águilas and Fernando Ortíz were following closely the game, as they are looking to strengthen the squad and have targeted at least three players from Atlas, although they will wait after the final is over to start negotiating with them.

Who are the players that Club América wants?

The first player in Ortíz’s list is Julio Furch, who has become a key player for Atlas even if he’s not the top scorer. But Las Águilas know that for Furch to succeed, he needs to have Julián Quiñones by his side, which is why the Colombian striker is the second Atlas player that can arrive at Estadio Azteca.

The last player that has become of interest to Club América is Hugo Nervo, who has become the leader of the defense, something that Las Águilas have been lacking with Bruno Valdez, who often forgets about his defensive duties. According to Transfermarkt, the Azulcremas will have to pay over $12 million to acquire the three of them, an affordable sum to instantly improve the current roster.
