According to reports, the Spanish center back wasn’t part of FC Koln’s squad on their 4-0 defeat against Bundesliga leader, Bayern Munich, as he was already on his way to Mexico, where Jorge Meré will sign a 3-year contract with Las Águilas.

The 24-year-old is said to be happy to join Liga MX team, where he’ll be an important part of Solari’s squad. Meré will share dressing room with fellow Spanish Álvaro Fidalgo, who joined América at the beginning of the 2021-22 Liga MX Season. Both players were born in Oviedo, in 1997.
