According to the information available thanks to Liga MX, in 2021, who won more duels between the two was Chivas, as they faced each other on two occasions and these duels ended with a draw and a victory for the Rebaño Sagrado. 

The first time that both clubs met in 2021 was on February 28, 2021, in the Clausura 2021 tournament in Round 8, in which Club Deportivo Guadalajara was more effective than Pumas UNAM, whom they defeated 2-1. 

The goals for the Rojiblancos were scored by José Juán Macías and Alejandro Mayorga, while the only goal for the Universitarios was scored by Gabriel Torres, who now plays for Deportes Antofagasta in Chile's First Division.

Pumas started the match-winning at the 14th minute with a goal by the Chilean Torres, who put the university team ahead in the match; however, Club Deportivo Guadalajara stepped on the gas.

They managed to snatch the victory from the Universitarios, who were coached by Andrés Lillini at that time, while Chivas were coached by Víctor Manuel Vucetich. 

Chivas vs Pumas in 2021 was a duel dominated by the Rebaño Sagrado

The second duel that both clubs had in 2021 was on September 12, 2021, when they met in Round 8 of the tournament in a duel held at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in which Lillini's and Vucetich's teams did not harm each other and negotiated the points, each taking 1 point. 

So last year was dominated by Chivas, who will be looking to maintain their dominance over Pumas, although there is a wound that the Rebaño Sagrado has still not been able to close against the Universitarios. 

It was in Apertura 2004 when the Auriazules snatched the title from the Rojiblancos when they defeated them on penalties 5-4 (6-5 on aggregate) at Guadalajara.
