It was the opportunity to achieve the first victory in the Apertura 2022. On two occasions, Guadalajara were ahead on the scoreboard, but failed to complete their performance at La Corregidora and drew 2-2 with Gallos, in their Match day 6 duel. Chivas is winless in the current tournament and Ricardo Cadena's job may be in trouble.

The initial part of the match was dynamic, with dangerous plays from the first few minutes, with the Rebaño as the team that gave the first warning just four minutes in, in a quick combination that ended with a shot to the side by 'Tepa' González, while Fernando Beltrán tried to take advantage of the wet field conditions with a couple of mid-range shots, one of which hit the base of the post, but Antonio Rodríguez blocked the shot.

Chivas looks to break a bad record against Queretaro on the road

After these approaches, Chivas opened the scoreboard at 26' with Sebastián Pérez Bouquet's first goal in the league, when, in a counterattack, Alexis Vega gave the ball to young player, who coolly cut back a defender in the area and then scored with his left foot. Unfortunately, the Tapatío squad did not reach halftime with that advantage, as Querétaro equalized in stoppage time, in a play in which Gabriel Rojas broke down the left flank and put the ball into the box, where Ariel Nahuelpan shot with his head to beat Miguel Jiménez.

In the second half, actions were more balanced, a situation that led both coaches to look for alternatives among their substitutes, so Ricardo Cadena strengthened the attack with the entry of Roberto Alvarado and Santiago Ormeño, who made his official debut with Guadalajara and came close to scoring his first goal when, at 75', Alexis Vega left him a ball in front of the goal, but his shot crashed into a defender.

The lead did not last for Chivas

Just three minutes later, Chiverío found the play that put them back in front, when Pavel Pérez was brought down inside the area and the referee pointed to the penalty, which Vega scored with a right-footed shot; however, the red and white team let the lead slip away in a play that was reviewed by the VAR in which the referee flagged a shirt pull by Ormeño in the area and Mario Osuna capitalized on the penalty at 89'. In the end, Miguel Jiménez was key to maintaining the tie with a save on a flashy shot by Ettsón Ayón. El Rebaño will play next Saturday, July 30 at home against Pachuca.
