Playing an attacking style of soccer, Chivas defeated Colima FC in their first preseason match, to prepare for the Clausura 2022

With goals from Fernando Beltrán, Ángel Zaldívar, Isaac Brizuela, Uriel Antuna, Hiram Mier, César Huerta and Jesus Angulo, Chivas won this preparation match in a game played over four 30-minute halves.

The Rebaño Sagrado scored the first three goals against the Caimanes in just a few minutes, two of them by Beltran and one by Isaac Brizuela.

These goals were extremely important for "Nene" Beltrán, who is desperately trying to earn a return to Michel Leaño's starting lineup.

However, it was not all easy, since, as a good preparation match, the duel was useful for Guadalajara's players to see their weaknesses

For example, in one play Antonio Briceño complained to Jesus Sanchez for missing the mark on a play. However, after Raúl Gudiño's intervention, the mood calmed down.

How did Chivas beat Colima FC?

The match began with the Rojiblancos attacking Colima FC with everything they had.

The high level of pressure they exerted paid off in the 9th minute when "Nene" Beltrán scored the first goal after taking advantage of a cross from Miguel Ponce and finishing at the far post.

Ángel Zaldívar followed, heading home a precise cross from 'Cone' Brizuela to make it 2-0 in the 15th minute.

Later, Beltrán scored again before the end of the first half to make it 3-0. At the start of the second half, things changed, as Guadalajara did not have as many approaches to the opponent's goal.

But in the third half, after Leaño changed the lineup, Uriel Antuna scored the 4-0 goal at minute 68, after a run down the right that allowed him to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and then beat him with a cross-shot.

In the 70th minute, Hiram Mier scored the 5-0 goal from a corner kick with a solid header, demonstrating that the Rebaño has been practicing set pieces.

In the 95th minute, César Huerta scored to make it 6-0, pushing the ball into the goal after a great run by Alejandro Mayorga down the left flank.

The 7-0 lead was scored by Eduardo Torres at minute 107 with a header and the eighth goal came courtesy of "Canelo" Angulo at minute 109, who finished off a pass into the box provided by Pável Pérez.

After this match, the team returned to Guadalajara to rest for two days and on Monday they will return to the Verde Valle facilities to continue their preparation for the Clausura 2022.

Chivas and the Apertura 2021

Last year's tournament for Chivas was one that the Rojiblancos would like to forget: they finished 10th in the overall standings in the regular season.

And when they had the opportunity to qualify for the Liguilla through reclassification, they were knocked out of this instance by Puebla.

That was after an agonizing last-minute equalizer by the Camoteros for a 2-2 final score, which led to everything being defined in a penalty shootout.

That is why these preseason matches are so important, for teams to study what they did wrong in the last tournament, to improve for the next Liga MX.
